"The Tale of 200 Shells"

Or, "Yes, It Really Is Worth It to Toss Them"

Like many of you, when I saw the new Shell Spring/Upload items for Valentine's this year, I tossed my stockpile of shells I was saving for April into the Spring. I didn't get any of those special items, but that's okay because I did get some other cool things and I knew I wouldn't have been able to last until April not tossing any shells anyway. It's too fun!

Anyhow, the reason I'm making this post is to show you what I got after tossing 200 shells, report their worth on the Market according to Oribon, then do a little math to calculate the value of each shell. Hopefully some of you will find this informative.

Add up all those prices and it comes to a net worth of 2250r. Divide that by the number of items there are, 40, and the average worth of each item is 56.25r. Divide that by the 5 shells it took to get each item, and the average worth of each shell is 11.25r, over twice the ribbons I'd have gotten selling those shells on the market.

Obviously everyone's results from the Shell Spring are different, but I don't have a reason to believe my results are anything but typical, unless there are some outside influences I don't know about. Getting one valuable item out of six might seem like a raw deal at first, but in my experience those valuable items more than make up for all the cheap junk you get.
